James C. "J.C." Wilson, 66, of Amherst, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

James was born July 15, 1950 in Tatesville, KY and had lived in Lorain County most of his life.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

He retired as a truck driver for E&L Transport after 33 years of service. He was a jack of all trades and master of none. He enjoyed gardening, collecting coins, knives, and tall ships. He loved woodworking, home repair, fixing things, cooking and trying new recipes, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, James D. (Terri) Wilson of Vermilion, Steven D. (Geri) Wilson of Vermilion, Erica D. (Edward) Smyers of Vermilion, Patrick J. (Valerie) Wilson of Vermilion, and Lindsey J. (fiancé Lucas) Wilson of Lorain; grandchildren, Trenton, Brady, Jerid, Travis, Deanna, Xander, Joshua, Danielle, Cody, and Brylie Lynn; great granddaughter, Rylinn; sister, Ann (Bob) Leininger ; brothers, Dan (Diane) "Fuzzy" Wilson, Rick (Robin) Wilson, and Bo (Terri) Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Josephine (nee Silvers) Wilson; sister, Earlene Wilson; and brother, Earl "Peanut" Wilson.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion from 1-3 pm and from 5 pm until the time of a memorial service at 7 pm. The Reverend Wallace Justice will officiate.
