Darlene Henry (nee Eckenrode), 60, of Vermilion, died Sunday, October 8, 2017 at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born April 17, 1957 in Lorain and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 32 years moving from Sheffield Lake.

Darlene had worked at Lithonia Lighting and Bettcher Industries. She had also worked as a cashier for Novotny Farm Market and the Vermilion Farm Market.

She was an avid gardener, hard worker, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 16 years, David Henry; daughters, Amy Correll of TX and Alicia (Cliff) Parsons of Vermilion; son, Anthony (Rachel) Cico of Amherst; step sons, David Henry of IN and Jonathan Henry of Norwalk; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Francis, Jim, Dennis, Jeff, Tim, and Gary Eckenrode; and her sister Donna Woods.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Hazel (nee Conrad) Eckenrode and her sister, Janice Eckenrode.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 4:00 pm until the time of a memorial service at 6:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH 44089. Father Ron Brickner will officiate.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Mercy Cancer Center, 41201 Schadden Road, Unit #2, Elyria, OH 44035
