Bobbie Lee Stone (nee Bloomer), 79, of Vermilion, died Monday, March 12, 2018 peacefully at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain after a brief illness.

She was born November 7, 1938 in Scott Co., Virginia and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 57 years moving from Virginia.

Bobbie enjoyed working outside the home and retired from the Vermilion Local School District, where she worked in the cafeteria. Together with her husband Ernest Otto Stone, they built a loving home where people were always welcome and loved to gather.

When she was not busy helping others, she enjoyed her pets, photography, crafts (crocheting and sewing), cooking, gardening, and food preserving.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Christopher) Gallagher of Vermilion; grandchildren, Kelly Neale of Strongsville and Shannon Neale of Oregon; sister, Eola (nee Barnette) Rhoton of Kingsport, TN; brothers, Jack "Bill" (Chaiba) Bloomer of Kingsport, TN and Kenneth (Brenda) Barnette of Weber City, VA.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ernest Otto Stone; parents, Hollie and Martha (nee Owens) Bloomer; daughter, Vivian Chmielewski; sisters, Mary Ruth (nee Bloomer) Sensabaugh and Margaret (nee Bloomer) Baker; and her brother, Frank Denny Barnette.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Cliff Morris will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion at a later date.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Mercy New Life Hospice, 3500 Kolbe Road, Lorain, OH 44053.
