Barry E. Ansell 79, of Vermilion, died Sunday, March 12, 2017 at MetroHealth Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Barry was born March 14, 1937 in Sculton, PA. He moved to Ohio in 1959, was a resident of Vermillion for the past 58 years.

Barry was a veteran of the US Army. Upon graduation from basic training he made the highest score out of 250 men. He was then assigned to CDEC Combat Develop Experimental Center.

He retired after 30 years in the stock department for Ford Lorain Assembly Plant. After his retirement he drove for the Vermilion Mini Bus.

He was a life member of the American Legion, life member of the Amvets Post #22, life member of the NRA, and member of the Eagles.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Ansell (nee Wiseman), son Brad Ansell of Plymouth, MI and daughter Laurie Parker of Wakeman; 3 grandchildren, Sierra Parker, Zak Parker, and Jack Ansell; brothers, Jim Ansell and Tom Ansell both of Vermillion and a sister Nancy Bauarmaster of Somerset, PA.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Wesley and Jane Ansell (nee Hostetler) and his brother Bill Ansell.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 16, 2017, from 2 pm until the time of the Military Honors presented by Vermilion Veterans Council and memorial service at 4 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. The Chaplain Mel Sayler will officiate.

The family suggests memorial contributions to American Legion Post 397 "In Memory of Barry Ansell",
